Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board is a public sector autonomous organization established under an Act of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in May 2011 for the promotion of Information Technology, Information Technology enabled services and Information Technology enabled education for the private sector of the Province of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the leadership of Mr. Shahram Khan, Senior Minister for Health and Information Technology, KPITB is achieving its goals and objectives to utilize modern technologies to improve the lives of the people of KPK. It is impossible to work without high-end technologies in the 21st century.
e-ilaj – A telehealth facility
Recently KPITB rolled out the project “e-ilaj”, which is an online medical help facility for people living in remote areas of KPK. Pakhtunkhwa is the first province of Pakistan to start such a facility. The pilot project is launched in the Bilahi area of district Mansehra which will be expanded to other districts in the near future.
Early Age Programming
This program is focused to empower KPK youth with programming skills. Early Age Programming & IT Essentials Project is an opportunity to bring programming to Classrooms in a fun and immersive manner. It also has the capacity to do more for education in KP than any other single movement and this is because the effective learning environment of the 21 century is based in access to Information Technology and the inefficiencies in learning it.
Digial Youth Summit 2017
The summit aims to bring together “the next generation of digital innovators in Pakistan” and typically attracts three key audiences: tech industry leaders from Pakistan and abroad, the nascent startup community; and young people looking to network, learn and be inspired. The summit therefore draws participants from the private sector, investors, government, civil society, youth groups and academia. DYS 2017 is organized around three key issue areas: Digital Employment, Tech Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
