Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan became one of the very few, if not the only, politician at present in Pakistan to announce a membership campaign as a result of which all the party leadership, including Imran Khan, will have to be elected to their positions by voting of all party members.

The goal of the national recruitment campaign of PTI is to get approximately 4,000,000 members and its strategy will be announced in coming days. Imran Khan said that the party had seen great nationwide popularity and new members after the Lahore rally on October 30, 2011 and that he wanted the campaign to clarify the confusion that had resulted after PTI was inundated with new members.

Imran Khan said:

Party elections are to take place in order to guarantee that no leader of PTI gets a designation due to favoritism or bias. Party elections will signal an end to hereditary politics in Pakistan and will ensure that PTI will not be dependent on Imran Khan and that it continues to function properly even without my presence.

Imran Khan keeps on proving his critics wrong, especially, this step of party elections will set a new standard in Pakistan politics. Both the mainstream parties of Pakistan are ruled by the families and they are family parties rather than national parties. PTI will be the first national party which will be elected by the members of the party and will work in the interest of the nation and not Imran Khan’s family!
